In short. Use an InBody Dial on a hard, level floor and repeat your measurements under similar conditions. The InBody Europe FAQ recommends a similar time of day, before eating or exercising and after using the restroom. The InBody Dial H20, InBody Dial H30 and InBody Dial H40 read at the hands and the feet together, so contact with both matters.

The models share hand and foot contact, but differ in connectivity and user recognition. The InBody Dial H40 also offers Leg Muscle Level and firmware updates.

The InBody Europe FAQ notes: Available outputs can vary by market and app version.
Prepare the floor, timing and electrode contact before starting. Keep the following checklist nearby so that the preparation becomes part of your routine.

Use the handle as part of the body composition measurement, with contact at both the hands and the feet. The InBody Dial H20 product page identifies electrodes on the handle and footplate, including patented thumb electrodes.
For the InBody Dial H20, the product page describes entering your height with the dial, stepping on to measure Weight, and then holding the handle to begin the body composition test. Follow the instructions for your particular model rather than assuming every setup step is identical.
For an unexpected Weight reading, check the floor and follow the zero-display check described in Key numbers. That check addresses the starting condition; it does not establish the cause of every unexpected result.
For other results, review your preparation and note anything that differed from your usual routine. A difference alone does not establish its cause or rule out a device issue. If the problem persists, contact InBody Europe support with your device model and a description of the issue.
Use the InBody Europe App Connection Guide for account setup and device connection. Choose the available language that suits you and follow the guide alongside the app.
Check connectivity in the InBody Europe model comparison before choosing your connection method. Keep the single-phone setup guidance in Key numbers in mind while pairing.
A weekly measurement can be a convenient routine. This is an optional scheduling suggestion, not a required interval or a claim that weekly testing is more accurate. The InBody Europe FAQ does not specify a required measurement interval.
Choose a schedule you can maintain. Missing a planned measurement does not mean you need to discard your earlier records or start again. Resume your routine and keep a note of when the measurements were taken.
Review several records together and keep notes about preparation alongside the dates. Consider recording whether you followed your usual routine or changed the location of the device.
A note provides context; it does not prove why a result changed. Avoid assigning a cause to an isolated reading or treating every difference as either progress or a setback. For model differences, see Which InBody Is Right for Me? InBody Dial H20 vs InBody Dial H30 vs InBody Dial H40 (2026).
Compatible models support multiple app profiles, according to the InBody Europe FAQ. Follow the connection guidance above when setting up or testing.
Yes. Socks and shoes interfere with direct contact at the foot electrodes, as explained in the InBody Europe model comparison.
A different result alone cannot determine whether the device is faulty. Review preparation and seek support if the issue persists.
No. Weekly measurement is the optional routine suggested in this guide, not a device requirement.
The InBody Europe downloads page provides the App Connection Guide. Use the guide for account setup and device connection.

A foot-only scale measures the lower body and estimates the rest, while an 8-point scale such as the InBody Dial reads at the hands and the feet together. In InBody's own testing the Dial agreed with the professional InBody 770 at R² 0.9885, and in a peer-reviewed study of 176 adults the 770 agreed with DEXA at 0.98 for fat-free mass. Agreement is not accuracy, so read a home result as a trend line.

InBody makes three home body composition scales: the Dial H20, H30 and H40. All three read at the hands and the feet, not the feet alone. If wellness is becoming part of your everyday, the H20. If sport is already part of your week, the H30. If fitness runs in your household, the H40.
